Moving towards Anarchy, better for the society?

Recently my thoughts are, what if we continue to function as a society as is, and slowly take away governance from our civic life. What would happen? Think deeply and thoroughly before deciding to eliminate governmental bodies and organization which might not be impacting our day to day lives.

In reality, do we need elected officials? Is democracy a thing of the past? Can't we live a good live with the essential bueraracy?
Saves us a ton of money! And saves us from all the foolishness goes on the front pages of newspapers would be replaced with substantiative material which would be useful for people. It could even lead up to molding a better society.

Let the Freedom Ring - July 4th

We are approaching the day of celebrating the freedom of our country.
I would like to bring to the attention millions of people being incarcerated in America, for petty things and held back in prisons with long sentences.
I think we need to take this time to unwind ourselves out of this incarceration industry, and turn our empty prison cells into classrooms or vocational training centers so that one can

musings

Movie The Rat Race
I have watched the movie last night about the rat catchers of Mumbai, brought it by a new group in Austin, Inde Meme. This is my thoughts about this movie.
This movie showcases the filth and squalor of India. And the pain of youth in India who seem to have no future. In one way, if you look at the plan of the city to hire men to kill 30 rats a day for a month, and get paid Rs. 10,000 is a lot of money for the work. It might not take too long to kill 30 rats I presume, since they are plenty running around. That would kind of make it 111 rupees per rat kids, a great deal of money, if you ask me. No wonder there are two thousand people applying for thirty positions.
A land where rat is the vehicle of Lord Ganesha and revered, the rats being mercilessly killed by hitting them on their head is the contrast of the spirrt of the city. This should not have been acceptable to the people in that city.  People seem to have no sensitivity or sanctity towards life itself. Rats are living beings too, if they cause problem, it should be controlled through humane means. Like catching rats and sterilizing them and tracking them. Instead of killing 30 of them, if they sterilize 300 of them every night, that would have reduced the population of rats. Or most importantly, spending that 10,000 rupees, or 300,000 rupees a month on proper garbage disposal. That alone would have reduced the number of rats to a minimum. When there is no food to eat, the population reduces. Before ever any attempt to control the rats extensive planning need to be undertaken about controlling rats. The citizens of the city need be involved asking their ideas about rat control, and directly participating them in the process. The rat population control need to be attacked from all fronts, cleanliness to begin with.

How to handle difficult times!

How to handle challenging times

After pandemic world is going through difficult times. Inflation touches every part of our lives around the world. No one is immune from that. Interest rates are high, prices are high including astronomically high home prices. Being in the business of Real Estate and Mortgage, everyone in this industry is suffering.
But there are people who will still be successful in any environment. This story is to respect and celebrate the successful people. Maybe we all can learn and internalize this story.

Chicken and her youngs

A long time ago, there lived in a communion, a group of chickens. Everyone was doing good, had plenty to eat and drink, and everyone was merry. They were very happy raising more kids and generally happy to be fortunate living in the land of plenty. There was enough worms and more for the hens, roosters and the chicks. They are all very healthy and happy due to the abundance of food. After a while hard times struck.

The seasonal rain which helped everything to prosper - the plants the animals - it did not rain that time. Plants and trees were starting to dry. The soft moist earth has hardened, and sadness fell upon the chicken community. Their food disappeared, and everyone is finding hard time to eat even one meal a day. They were crestfallen. The hens were depressed of the fact that their little ones had not much to eat.

Then there was one hen, and her chicks still doing very well! The chicks had enough and more to eat, and the hen seems to be very contented.

The other hens who was watching her was very puzzled. They wanted to find out why she is happy and can feed her kids when all the rest are suffering.

They went up to her and asked 'Hello dear hen, there is drought and we don't have enough to eat, but you seem to be happy and you have enough food for your chicks and yourself. What is your secret?

The hen replied.

"I just dig deeper!"

This is a very important story - when the soil is moist, the earthworms come to the top of the soil and when the land get dry, they dig deeper into the soil. The hen hard to work harder to find them - it just had to dig deeper to reach the earthworms!

Hope you enjoyed this story.
If so, please follow me and give me a thumps up. (Ha ha, we ar living in social media times!)

Saving the Earth NOW - 2021 Earth Day thoughts

I will be talking about carbon dioxide control and how our future is Hydrogen as the fuel for everything in this article

It is known to all sensible people that humans are wreaking havoc on every part of this earth and its inhabitants non reversible damage due to carbon dioxide emissions for their own comforts. Humans are methodically destroying the environment and pumping millions of tons of carbon dioxide as well as cutting down trees and filling the air which belongs to everyone. The majority of the earth, the oceans are not spared either.

Developed countries have taken a few steps, to avoid smog, we have implemented the exhaust gas from our vehiches to be treated of nitrous oxides, but carbon dioxide is left alone to be accumulate in the atmosphere.

The only way we tackle the problem of generation of carbon dioxide and freely releasing it to atmosphere  is NOT to generate carbon dioxide in activities we do which now produces carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Mostly energy production is what causes carbon dioxide production whether it is electricity or energy to move us or the goods we use to different places with energy.

Here is the simple solution: Replace the carbon dioxide generating, energy producing activity with a differently energy source - Hydrogen. The burning of hydrogen only produces water, which is harmless.

So taming hydrogen production, storing and managing it has to be our top priority moving forward. All technology is already available - best way, albeit still inefficient is using fuel cells,

Fuel cell, hydrogen based cars from Toyota and Hyundai are the solution from the transportation view point. Building up hydrogen stations everywhere and promoting hydrogen based vehicles can start the much needed change in our world.

So why not promote electric cars? Well, two major deficiencies of pure electric cars - one time it takes to charge if away from home. And two, heavy use of Lithium. Both of these problems will full electric can be cut down with the hydrogen powered cars. Quick fill up, and since fuel cell powers the battery on a regular basis, no need to carry large capacity Lithium batteries.

Now, coming to the petroleum production - what happens to that? At some point we have to wean ourselves off from it, but it can stil be part of the picture. We shift that paradigmby not burning hydrocarbons - it is so yesterday, but broken up into hydrogen, carbon and oxygen. Hydrogen will be used as the fuel, and carbon used in some other uses(activated carbon, carbon nanofibers etc) , and oxygen to be used for industrial as well as medical uses. The technology is already available and mature.

Another step we need to take is to cut down on anything we burn. Natural gas, propane, since abundant, there are fuel cells  to generate energy - the carbon dioxide as a byproduct, we have to strictly rules implement to scrub it.

But how?

Just like how we scrub carbon dioxide in a submarine. Bring the technology to the surface, and have it strictly implemented in any factories or any vehicles where carbon dioxide is still have to be generated. This later could be sunk into the ocean or used as fuel for green houses for higher production and faster plant growth.

TDLR: Actively moving to a Hydrogen based economy NOW rapidly moves us away from the catastrophe we will see in our earth in our life time.

Working Towards a Humanistic Government

We have made so many mistakes in the past as a society. We have done a lot of things right was well. We are still evolving into a better society. Here are the things we can do to accelerate our quality of life in this blue planet.

America lost her leadership in the world power, every country is slowly coming out to be powerful in their own way, in self sufficiency, the life quality and such.  America should lead the world in converting this world into a humanistic society. And it need to start from the government.
55% of American budget is going towards military. This could be very well used inside for the welfare of the people.

A chunk of money and effort need to be set aside to reduce military budgets of countries of the world. This is a burden the world is taking on their shoulders because they are afraid of their neighboring country. If there can be consensus to whittle down military budgets to zero of every country, that would be a great move, through bringing neighboring countries to drop their guard and tell them there is nothing to fear and showing that we are reducing our weapon program as well.

Part of the American Interests in the middle east and such is leading up to arms accumulation. But by helping to accelerate a shift in the energy sector that area can be made irrelevant, since we can produce our own energy and promote alternate energy that we can be one day self sufficient and still be non polluting. This will save us from having any bases in any part of the world for energy sake.
This need to be targeted as a priority item. This will also have far reaching consequences that we can make a very positive change in the existence of the earth itself.

Locally here is what we need to change:

1. Capital punishment need to stop. Killing someone is not the solution for people's crimes. Just because someone committed a crime at the spur of the moment when they lost themselves, doesn't mean that it should destroy their life.

2. Incarceration need to stop. Making people miserable and wasting their lives in jail cells is inhumane. Need other ways to bring correction to human's lives

3 Low income wages where people cannot make a living is not acceptable. Should have a policy of living wages as applied to local areas about providing people with wages which not only make people have a roof above their head, have three time meals, but also can have time for leisure.

4. Education should be as free as possible, this allows to create a foundation for humans who can earn a good living. At least a college education should be best, along with knowledge to get them to be working right away (vocational training).

5. Work towards low cost housing, so that it would be only a small part of people's expense, so that they have more money towards enjoyment in life.

6. Basic free healthcare. Anyone should be able to see a medical professional without substantial cost from their pocket. Everyone should pay for their own healthcare, or have a monthly payment system where everyone participates so that the sick can get afforable healthcare.

7. Tax burden put on people and corporations need to be reduced to a point that people should be glad to pay the taxes for the things they get in return. Better infrastructure, better government services

8. Government need to keep it to the minimum so that the tax burden on people can be reduced. Government is most times a wasteful entity and need to be run frugally, but with highly paid officials so that we can attract efficient and intelligent people to run it. Just the opposite is what happens now.

9. Immigration. The society is not stagnant, people are rapidly aging in the country, and need talent which need to replace them, and young vibrant people need to be the core of a society, if not there can be replenished with immigrants. They are such a great asset to any society and we should not fail to recognize it. Rules need to be changed to quickly bring so called illegal immigrants to main stream, so that they can start paying the taxes. Singular huge benefit for the government along with their use of time and effort to better our society.

10. Efficient judicial system, currently very much broken, need to be reviewed and fixed.

11. Laws - laws and rules need to be kept to a minimum. Encouraging people to participate in activities need to be given priority than banning them from activities. Eliminate silly thing out of criminal category, like drug possession and such.

How are you burning up your life? aka The Human Life Cycle

When we were young, we were taught about butterfly life cycle, water cycle , and other relevant information about how life is preserved and transformed in this beautiful, dynamic blue globe called earth.
Have we ever thought much about the Human Life Cycle?
It starts out and ends like any other animal.
The systems that are different is, we undergo schooling, graduate, get a job, work in a job or do our own things, procreate, raise kids for long time, get old, get a pension from government or companies we worked for, get old and die.

But within this life cycle, we make beautiful things, we build cities, we innovate, we create, we change the world, in leaps and bounds, progressively, make baby steps in self improvement, and our societies get richer, smarter, less poorer, develop better quality of life.

Humans are such a small part of the eco system, but have much higher control over the globe, we do a lot of things different animals do, but we do them as humans - we can fly like birds with planes, we go on water with out boats, we can dig  and burrow earth with our earth moving equipments. We have evolved much over millennium, our societies have developed, waned and left destruction in their paths. We polluted, we cleaned up, we killed species, we protected them. As a society we wax and wane, right now it is waxing…

Now, what are you doing in your life span? How are you burning up your life?
What is your larger goal? Exist? Just live? Make a lot of money, and pursue a single minded goal of money making? For what?

What gives you pleasure? What gives you hope? Why are you motivated to exist?

These are questions we need to ask ourselves and find answers for. This would make us do big things, we need to think big, and do big. Don’t think small and do small. We are great creatures and have one chance at this life. We have formed by chance, and endured and grown up to this point without perishing, yes, we do perish at the end, but what are we going to do the rest of our lives? Let me know your thoughts.

Winter - beekeeping activities

Winter is blasting Austin, Texas, with much needed rain as well (I am thrilled that the land I have have captured a good amount of it), and the bees in my four beehives behind our sunroom has become quiet.
They now just go out to 'do their thing' out side the hive (Bees are clean beings, they don't defaecate in their hives) and come back inside in this freezing cold, a few bees at a time. I am feeding them sugar water to keep their food reserves up and for them to use only less of their honey reserves, since I would like to have it, when the weather warms up next year. My current way of feeding them is not actually very good, to feed them using glass bottles filled with sugar water connected to the hive entrance - they have to venture out in the cold to get the sugar water. I am going to put some sugar patties inside the warm hive so that they can avoid doing that. But I do not want to open the hive in this cold weather and freeze the poor bees. Hoping there would be a day soon, where the weather would be warm on noon time so that I can come home from lunch from work and take care of that. Right now they are are curled up as a ball around their queen vibrating their wings, creating heat to keep everyone warm. The bees inside the ball would take turns to replace  the peripheral bees to do the hard work of helping it the most.

How about if you could get your own honey in this summer from your own hive in your backyard? Don't that sound enticing? If you have an interest in beekeeping and think you are willing to venture into it, and not afraid of the bees (who isn't afraid of the bees, all the news which come out are negative, bee swarms attacking people etc, which are so isolated events, and can be avoided if knew early, like not making a lot of noise in front of their hives and annoying them etc..), this is the time to act. You can buy the whole beekeeping hive kit including gloves and veil hood and a few tools and you can wait till the weather warms up next March or so, to start putting together a hive. If here is genuine interest, and if it is closer to where I live, I am happy to help you out, even finding you a package of bees, and helping you establish a colony.

The place I like to buy hive items is Mann Lake Ltd. http://www.mannlakeltd.com/

Thoughts on Hinduism

Yesterday, I was listening to a swami and he was mentioning a few things:Hinduism is what makes a weak mind stong mind. Which means it is some kind of a self help system which are plenty available in the self help isle of any book store.

Also he mentioned that Adikavyam is Ramayanam and Adikavi is Valmiki.
How can that be? In India, never was a poem ever written before Valmiki? It is so hard to believe.
I wonder what ever happened to the literature existed before Valmiki. Was there a Hindu uprising which might have destroyed them all?

He started off saying about kids who grow up in America and fearful of intermingling with the kids here who would have a different religion and the fear of influenced by them and joining them, and he brings in examples. This is nothing but fear mongering. There are lots of so called sanyasins roaming around in US who are hell bend on teaching Hinduism to kids by influencing their parents and shaking them up for money for their own survival.

I find teaching any religion to kids are preposterous. I think kids need to grow up with no influence of any religion and should have the right to think and form their own opinion about everything by themselves, and not by the influence of any religion. Living in this scientific world, we need to teach them about scientific principles and not believe in pseudo science and other questionable elaborate concepts like palm readings, astrology, hoemopathy, vastu, feng shui and such. Lots of concepts are out there, which are false and is a headache to human society, like chinese people thinking that you can cure diseases with rhinosorous horn powder, tiger penis powder etc. These unscientific ways need to be ended and made awareness of growing kids not to accepts anything which doesn't fall in the realm of scientific evidence, and bring them up under strict scientific evidence based belief system. They should never be taught about god or any other higher beings, never make them believe in spirituality and other fakery.

I understand that the curiosity of death and birth lead people to believe in so many things, but, it is a natural phenomenon happening everyday. That is part of how Universe is all about.
