Jan 31 - 61st birthday what it means to me?

Today is my 61st birthday. The day we are all born, so many years ago - we came to this physical world that day - and there starts the trials and tribulations on being alive - sometimes happy sometimes sad, sometimes frustrated, sometimes sorrow. And to reach up to this age- without much of damage is being lucky. A lot of people won't make it till now. Think about all the lives lost before they reach 60 - so many of them for so many reasons - being born in the bad part of the world where wars and famine ravage- must not exist by now, possibly, unless you are lucky. So circumstances and situations play a big part of being alive.

So when you reach a certain age, is it not happy to be aging - when younger - can't wait to grow up - now older, getting older is not something we look forward to. Another page of the book has torn away, and how soon are we reaching the end? Is the end near? All those worries!

But when you reach an age - it is not about birthday celebration but it is about what you want to do with the rest of your limited life you have?

By this time, most people if they were lucky would have completed a life cycle - that is raised kids and they have become independent and the next life cycle for them starts - so you are out of that cycle - possibly retired - or maybe not, and wondering how to spend the remaining years when life winds down.

For some - bodily ailments start and suffering will be part of it - even if temporarily will become aware that we are no longer young.

So the question is - what are you going to do with the rest of your life?

America is a Great country

I am very convinced that in spite of all the ills of America is a great country to live in. I’ll tell you one main reason where America is much better than other countries - LGBTQ freedom - that alone is worth it’s concept in gold the freedom to be what you are as compared to  being in Russia or in any other countries where LBGTQ people are frowned upon. So America is great with just that one alone.

LEGAL SYSTEM:

American legal system people complain about our jail system. Everybody complaints about yes it definitely needs reformation but the way not to be involved in. It is not to be criminal not to show criminal tendencies where you get entangled in the mental system if you can live a straight life, obeying the laws of the country -  America is heaven, but if you mess with the American law, then you are in for hell a lot of trouble with a legal system which could destroy your life. It’s not easy to come out of it once you get involved in it.

As far as the Jail system goes, we should rename all the jails to Timeout facilities. Basically, it’s nothing but a timeout for people who do bad stuff and the sentences should be reduced to a few days and whenever they get in a series of people need to interact with them -  mental health people, their teachers if they are  juvenile and find out why they did what they did and help them transition back into better, life, straightforward life, and we should watch for reservation if the environment of the society in every person‘s life, we should be able to make them walk on the straight path.

TAXES:

People talk about the tax system I think American taxes are OK we are using that money for various reasons to improve upon the country to improve our lives and  pretty much all the infrastructure we see around us and  is funded by the government by collecting taxes. I don’t think anybody should complain about the taxes. it’s all used for good. Yes definitely we need to whittle down the taxes charged. See our military budget is too huge - to gain an upper hand in the world - but do we need to? It is an attitudinal adjustment - why can't be live in peace with others and respect others and not try to gain an upper hand on everyone else? America spends almost $1 trillion on food stamps. We could try to save that money by social engineering and intervention of government in people’s lives to make them better to stand their own legs.

What America is not doing right:

Humans are human resource - in Economics - we call the people - Human Capital - human capital drives everything - the prosperity of a country is dependent on the people who remain productive at their peak earning ages. It takes a lot of money and effort to bring up a person to working age - if immigrants flock to America - it is a great thing! We are getting people who are already prepped for work! We should be thanking God that they are showing up so that we can put them to use to increase prosperity in the country.

Why do small towns - wonderful places die a slow death - young people leave - that is why! Now you understand why young people are important for even the existence of a society? So we need to bring more and more people to this country to remain prosperous!

Stopping them at the border- packing them away all these are bad things to do 99% of the immigrants are not bad people - even people who commit bad things and be turned around that is the power of human mind - just because someone committed crime doesn't mean that you have to get rid of them. Just because a key of an expensive piano is bad doesn't mean that you throw away the piano! We fix the key!

My Jail Experience

I want to sincerely thank every one of you who worked diligently to get me out of the situation so that I could get back to life again! Without your help I would probably rot in that place. Well they kept me there and since the warrant is from Travis county a police van will come from Austin to pick me up and put in their holding facility. I will be there until the next court date. Only the bond will help me get out and see sunlight again. And be able to have access to my phone and move around freely.

The first thing you lose in a place like that is the concept of time. There is no clocks anywhere and there are no windows to see outside. The light will be fully shining bright even during sleeping. The food was just canned beans, a corn bread sometimes seeetened sometimes not, porridge, cooked rice and a blob of meat patty put on top and some sauce poured over it. All in a dimpled plastic tray looking thing. I just eat beans out of the can and the corn bread. Survived on just that doe the two days. So many interesting stories to tell. I was observing everything detached and never felt scared or depressed. Everything was new, never seen stuff and ways of government, no niceties, just harshness. It is sad to see what kind is people go there. Little things is all it take to get there.

Putting on the handcuffs is the little disappointing at first but will get used to it fast. Multiple times it is take out and put it in. Always on handcuffs when transporting.

Bed to sleep was better than the one I was sleeping in india! Ha ha. That prepared me for everything. Water sink is above the potty - all one single stainless steel piece. Initially so demeaning but no choice but to drink water from it standing on top of the stainless steel potty.

Actually I am so glad that I was out through the ringer. It is very demeaning from start to finish. I was waiting for my name to be called every minute to take me out of that place. There are over 500 people in there. It is very similar to some movies I saw. Open area to eat, the supervisor can see every cell. Each cell has two people with a double  bunk bed. The door is remotely closed and open. Let out only during breakfast lunch and dinner time. Mornings will get to be outside in the dining area where chess and paying cards are available. Made a few friends asked about how they all got there and so many interesting stories. Some of them are there for months! I was there just for 1 day only, thanks to you all and esp Nikhil who was willing to put up $1000 of his own money for my freedom.

It is interesting that America is the land of Freedom whole most incarcerated people in the world!

Some of them are mental health patients, some are found with 10 gms of gummy bears or more than 5 gms of marijuana. Some are hardcore meth addicts. Some are men who have scorned their girlfriends or wives.

There was a manager of a software company doing web security pulling in 300k a year. Wife got him in.

Another guy - a lineman - who install overhead power lines making $200k a year - his ex turned him. Sad stories

My room mate cry and laughter out loud during night time. A total mental health case. He begged for my food and I gave it to him and went hungry. This is after he eating his own dinner. He was in for terrorist threat - he should be in a mental institution and  not in jail. Poor thing.

Most are black people. 2 or three white. I was the ONLY indian. Couple of people in wheelchairs

The server , a black guy saw me and asked why are you here. Your kind are not supposed to be here!

First day was at a holding facility by thr airport. Good food, nice new bed blanket is a Mylar sheet which runners would wrap themselves with after a marathon run. So steamy inside. When booked at the county jail - transported  there in a van with 15 other inmates.

After mugshotting and tv test and medical inquiries was given jail clothes. A onesie. Had to take all clothes off including shoes. Has to wear their chappels and rough cotton dark green onesie. But not the striped kind. It has Tarrant county jail written on the back. Ever the underwear has to be removed and has to wear their rough cotton underwear. For most people I guess it feels humiliating but for me I was enjoying this experience and observing how everything works in US jails.

My picture can be seen on arrests.org website for the day of 8th Nov I think. For the whole world to see ha ha.

A very good experience to go through. Knowing that I will be bonded out from there made it ok, but the wait was painful.

I can see jail will be a better life for homeless people than being outside in the cold/heat where this jail was cooler inside - not sure if they have heater. One guy who had been to many jails told he this is the best jail he has ever been.  He said it feels like luxury

So when I got out had to go to the bonding place do some paperwork. Then went to airport and found out that they can’t put me on another flight without buying a new ticket. I had to buy on the spot and had to pay $200 because the American Airlines lady used her debit card to pay for the ticket since I lost my wallet in the process. Paid her like $20 as tip.

Loneliness vs Aloneness(Solitude)

The word loneliness means you are seeking someone else to give you happiness. This is an aberrated state of mind. You should convert that to aloneness, or solitude, which is very productive, one can focus on oneself, your health, what you need to get done, and be happy in your own skin. Practice mindfulness, and celebrate you! You don't need anyone's company to give you happiness. This dependency is because you were used to someone and that person is not there. Once you focus on yourself that depression will disappear like the fog in the morning sun.

Also find happiness in the things around you - get out and look around search for plants and flowers and trees. Go hug a tree when you find one, make tree your friend. Enjoy the flowers blooming, Enjoy the plant itself, examine it, go see some water bodies, watch the birds around you, see how they sound, their color, what kind of noice they are making. Find happiness in seeing the grass blades sway in the wind. Watch morning sunrise, and evening sunset, look up and see the clouds, see what kind of forms you can see, night time, look up the sky and see the stars and planets. So many things to be happy and be celebrating for in this world every second, you REALLY DON'T NEED ANYONE OR NEED TO SOCIALIZE to find happiness. Of course socializing do make one feel good.

Moving towards Anarchy, better for the society?

Recently my thoughts are, what if we continue to function as a society as is, and slowly take away governance from our civic life. What would happen? Think deeply and thoroughly before deciding to eliminate governmental bodies and organization which might not be impacting our day to day lives.

In reality, do we need elected officials? Is democracy a thing of the past? Can't we live a good live with the essential bueraracy?
Saves us a ton of money! And saves us from all the foolishness goes on the front pages of newspapers would be replaced with substantiative material which would be useful for people. It could even lead up to molding a better society.

Let the Freedom Ring - July 4th

We are approaching the day of celebrating the freedom of our country.
I would like to bring to the attention millions of people being incarcerated in America, for petty things and held back in prisons with long sentences.
I think we need to take this time to unwind ourselves out of this incarceration industry, and turn our empty prison cells into classrooms or vocational training centers so that one can

musings

Movie The Rat Race
I have watched the movie last night about the rat catchers of Mumbai, brought it by a new group in Austin, Inde Meme. This is my thoughts about this movie.
This movie showcases the filth and squalor of India. And the pain of youth in India who seem to have no future. In one way, if you look at the plan of the city to hire men to kill 30 rats a day for a month, and get paid Rs. 10,000 is a lot of money for the work. It might not take too long to kill 30 rats I presume, since they are plenty running around. That would kind of make it 111 rupees per rat kids, a great deal of money, if you ask me. No wonder there are two thousand people applying for thirty positions.
A land where rat is the vehicle of Lord Ganesha and revered, the rats being mercilessly killed by hitting them on their head is the contrast of the spirrt of the city. This should not have been acceptable to the people in that city.  People seem to have no sensitivity or sanctity towards life itself. Rats are living beings too, if they cause problem, it should be controlled through humane means. Like catching rats and sterilizing them and tracking them. Instead of killing 30 of them, if they sterilize 300 of them every night, that would have reduced the population of rats. Or most importantly, spending that 10,000 rupees, or 300,000 rupees a month on proper garbage disposal. That alone would have reduced the number of rats to a minimum. When there is no food to eat, the population reduces. Before ever any attempt to control the rats extensive planning need to be undertaken about controlling rats. The citizens of the city need be involved asking their ideas about rat control, and directly participating them in the process. The rat population control need to be attacked from all fronts, cleanliness to begin with.

How to handle difficult times!

How to handle challenging times

After pandemic world is going through difficult times. Inflation touches every part of our lives around the world. No one is immune from that. Interest rates are high, prices are high including astronomically high home prices. Being in the business of Real Estate and Mortgage, everyone in this industry is suffering.
But there are people who will still be successful in any environment. This story is to respect and celebrate the successful people. Maybe we all can learn and internalize this story.

Chicken and her youngs

A long time ago, there lived in a communion, a group of chickens. Everyone was doing good, had plenty to eat and drink, and everyone was merry. They were very happy raising more kids and generally happy to be fortunate living in the land of plenty. There was enough worms and more for the hens, roosters and the chicks. They are all very healthy and happy due to the abundance of food. After a while hard times struck.

The seasonal rain which helped everything to prosper - the plants the animals - it did not rain that time. Plants and trees were starting to dry. The soft moist earth has hardened, and sadness fell upon the chicken community. Their food disappeared, and everyone is finding hard time to eat even one meal a day. They were crestfallen. The hens were depressed of the fact that their little ones had not much to eat.

Then there was one hen, and her chicks still doing very well! The chicks had enough and more to eat, and the hen seems to be very contented.

The other hens who was watching her was very puzzled. They wanted to find out why she is happy and can feed her kids when all the rest are suffering.

They went up to her and asked 'Hello dear hen, there is drought and we don't have enough to eat, but you seem to be happy and you have enough food for your chicks and yourself. What is your secret?

The hen replied.

"I just dig deeper!"

This is a very important story - when the soil is moist, the earthworms come to the top of the soil and when the land get dry, they dig deeper into the soil. The hen hard to work harder to find them - it just had to dig deeper to reach the earthworms!

Hope you enjoyed this story.
If so, please follow me and give me a thumps up. (Ha ha, we ar living in social media times!)
